In this article you will find:
AI Wflow Connect – beta version
Wflow can now be connected to AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT via the MCP (Model Context Protocol) standard. Instead of clicking around in Wflow, simply describe to the assistant what you want to do, and it will handle it for you in Wflow – in natural language, without the need to navigate the system manually.
What you can try
Manage users and teams across organizations
Bulk edit documents without manual clicking
Get quick answers to controlling and reporting questions
Check the status of an invoice
What you'll get
You will save time on routine administration
Get answers instantly, without manual searching
You can assign tasks in natural language, without clicking through the system
Use cases
Managing users, roles and teams across organizations
„Replace user Y with user X in all organizations.“
„Which users have permission to make payments across organizations?“
„Create a new team X and add the users from this table to it.“
Controlling and reporting
„Find inconsistencies in accounting entries for the Marketing cost center for this month.“
„Compare revenues for the Central office cost center with last month.“
„Where is the order for this invoice?“
„Find discrepancies compared to the exported accounting ledger.“
How the connection to Claude and other AI agents works
Claude
Claude Web, Desktop, Mobile, Cowork, Claude Code – just connect via the dedicated connector; it works immediately after activation.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT Web, Desktop, Mobile, ChatGPT Work, Codex – standard MCP connection, configured according to your environment.
How to connect to Claude – step by step
Procedure for Claude Desktop / Web (in ChatGPT and other agents only the menu location differs – the principle is the same: standard MCP connection).
1. Open Settings → Connectors
In the left panel click on your account and select Settings, then in the Customize section go to Connectors.
2. Add a custom connector
In the Connectors section click the Add button and choose Add custom connector.
3. Fill in the Wflow connector details
Enter Wflow in the name field and paste the MCP address https://mcp.wflow.com/mcp into the address field. Click Continue.
4. Approve access (OAuth)
The Application Access Request page will open. Check that the Verified domain matches the application you are signing in from (e.g. claude.ai), and only then click Allow Access.
After approval, the Wflow connector is connected and you can immediately start issuing tasks in natural language.
How to connect to ChatGPT – step by step
Because this is a custom (unverified) MCP connector, ChatGPT requires you to first enable Developer Mode and then add the connector via the Plugins section.
1. Enable Developer Mode
In ChatGPT go to Settings → Security and login and in the Developer Mode section toggle the Developer Mode switch (marked as Increased risk). Without this you cannot add custom unverified connectors.
2. Open Plugins and add a new connector
In the Settings menu click on Plugins and then on Browse plugins or the + button in the top right.
3. Fill in the Wflow connector details
In the New plugin dialog enter:
Name: Wflow
Connection: Server URL
Server URL: https://mcp.wflow.com/mcp
Authentication: OAuth
4. Confirm the risk warning
ChatGPT will show a warning that custom MCP servers present a risk. Check „I understand and want to proceed“ and click Create.
5. Sign in via Wflow (OAuth)
A window „Add Wflow connector to ChatGPT“ will appear. Click „Sign in via Wflow“ and complete the sign-in. After successful sign-in the Wflow connector will be linked to your ChatGPT account and appear in the list of installed plugins.
Who can participate and how?
Beta version: Early access for Wflow customers.
Who can participate:
For simpler situations: anyone with experience with AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Claude) and connecting other services (e.g. Gmail or Notion) – just connect the Wflow connector and issue tasks in natural language.
For more complex use: advanced users who work in Claude Cowork with materials in a folder and let the AI process tasks in Wflow based on those materials.
What you need to have ready:
An active account in Claude or ChatGPT (works on free and paid versions) - We recommend using paid versions to avoid data being used for training
Note: In the free version of Claude you can add only one custom connector (from the Marketplace you can add more connectors), so Wflow would be the only connected tool.
Recommendations for the beta version
AI does exactly what you ask it – we recommend starting with smaller tasks and gradually expanding.
Use it for clearly defined tasks, not for critical processes without oversight.
Before fully enabling, verify operation on a smaller organization or a limited data set; do not start immediately with bulk operations across many organizations.
Pay extra attention to the results.
Some tasks take longer – if you have a subscription and do not pay per token, let the assistant work in the background and return to the result later.
The more precisely you specify tasks, the better results you'll get.
Permissions and settings in Wflow
Scope of permissions: The AI agent acts within the permissions of the signed-in user (or the API key used) – there is no expansion of rights beyond a normal account; access can be configured and limited.
Risk: the agent may perform an unwanted or incorrect action (e.g., modify or delete data) if the prompt is unclear or poorly formulated.
Responsibility on your side: the customer's technical administrator is responsible for configuration and scope of access.
Support: contact the Wflow support team for assistance with setup (chat directly in the app, or email support@wflow.com).
Data security and handling of sensitive information
When using the agent, the content of documents (e.g., invoices) may be propagated into the prompt – every user in your company should be aware of what they are sharing with the external AI tool.
If you work with sensitive financial data, you should consider what is appropriate to include in the prompt.
All communication between the MCP server and the agent application (Claude Cowork, Claude Code, ChatGPT…) is encrypted with SSL protocol, just like online banking.
The MCP server does not store any sensitive data, only a list of clients who have been allowed to communicate. These data are also encrypted using AES and HMAC.
Technical description:
Description of the entire MCP: https://mcp.wflow.com/llms.txt – the agent can help with the connection.
MCP address: https://mcp.wflow.com/mcp – if you only want part of the MCP, the description page includes a breakdown by sections.
Authorization: OAuth protocol.
Approving access – what to watch out for
Wflow will never send communications that would direct you to the access approval page – you will only reach it when you are connecting an agent.
Always check the Verified domain address and the address below it. Expected values: claude.ai, chatgpt.com, grok.com, www.grok.com, vertexaisearch.cloud.google.com.
For command-line tools (e.g. Claude Code), an address like localhost:{port number} may appear – always check that the port number matches and you know which tool it belongs to.
If you're not sure, it's always better to ask than to click Allow Access. After this step your login will be forwarded to the agent.
Error „isn't on my allowlist“ when uploading or downloading files
Tools like Claude Chat or ChatGPT run the agent in an isolated environment (container), which the agent itself calls a „workspace“.
When performing file upload or download operations, the following message may typically appear in this environment:
wflowrcstorage.blob.core.windows.net isn't on my allowlist
This is a setting on the client side (the AI tool itself) that needs to be adjusted:
In the tool, go to Settings → Capabilities.
Enable the Allow network egress option.
Add the entry
wflowrcstorage.blob.core.windows.netto the Allowed domains list.
